岡田克也と言えば外務大臣の時に
韓国の竹島不法占拠に関して徹底的に不法占拠と言わないようにしたり、
中国が日中合意を反故にして白樺のガス田開発を再開したら
それを「日本国民に知られないように」外務省内に指示を出し、
それまで確認することが出来ていたガス田開発状況の定期空中撮影の写真を隠蔽。
竹島の問題に関しても一切抗議せずに
国会での野党からの指摘に対してそのことを誤魔化し続け、
あろうことか「累次の際に抗議してきた」と虚偽答弁をしていました。
（鈴木宗男の質問主意書への回答によりこの答弁が虚偽だった事が裏付けられた）
そして日米の密約を調査するとして調査したものの物的証拠は何一つ見つからず
「証拠は無いが状況からして密約は間違い無くあった、だから密約はあった。」
というメチャクチャな結論を出して「日米の密約を暴いた」事を自画自賛していました。
融通が利かない事でも有名で
この人に野党との交渉をやらせて話が進んだ事がありません。
